David Brennan Education offers tailored tutoring services for children between the ages of 4 and 16.

Making learning fun and building confidence is the cornerstone of our approach to teaching and we aim to give our pupils the best possible chance to achieve their full potential.

Creating a love of learning, combining enjoyment and a wide variety of activities including problem solving and reasoning, support laying the foundations of an indepth understanding.  We offer a bespoke and personal service that is right for your child, matches their needs and ambitions and is delivered in a tailored way that complements their learning style. Instilling the belief that making mistakes is a part of the learning journey and ensuring that learning is fun is central to our approach.

David Brennan Education is proud to have achieved the following successes:

  • Tutored individual and groups of pupils through the Independent School 11+ process. This has covered Maths, English, Verbal-Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Exam technique.
  • Our pupils have been offered places at schools including Eton, Winchester, Radnor, St Pauls’ Girls, Wycombe Abbey (including 2 x Academic Scholarships), City of London Girls, South Hampstead, Godolphin and Latymer, Francis Holland and Hampton (all parents are available as Referees).
  • Guided multiple students to achieve their desired grade in their Maths and English GCSE.
  • Run 4 highly successful holiday camps.
  • Run a Summer Catch-Up Curriculum for children whose learning had been disrupted by the Covid pandemic and resulting lockdown.

Our tutors are currently working with children between the ages of 4 and 16

Reception to Year 4

Children are exploring age specific Maths concepts and strategies, while developing a deeper understanding of the areas of Maths studied in school.

Year 5 and Year 6

Pupils are on bespoke education plans in Maths, English, Non-Verbal Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning, as well as attending 11+ Exam groups working towards entrance exams to a range of schools including St Paul's, Godolphin and Latymer, Francis Holland, Kingston Grammar and Wycombe Abbey.

Key Stage 3

Pupils receive support to reinforce new concepts in English and Maths and to add greater depth to their understanding.

GCSE

Students receive support to reinforce new concepts in English and Maths and to add greater depth to their understanding.

My daughter joined David’s tutor group during lockdown to help ease the pressure of home-schooling. She instantly became motivated by her schoolwork again and was happy and energised by his sessions. I was amazed to see her run upstairs and log on when it was time for his lessons! David also tutored my daughter in his Saturday morning exam group to help her feel confident when approaching her entrance exams. His group had just the right balance of learning, fun and feelgood energy to keep the children engaged and happy. David has a unique lightness of touch that means children are learning and building confidence, but don’t feel under pressure or scared about their entrance exams.  He helps them feel like they have the tools they need to do their best.  His encouragement and focus were an integral part of my daughter enjoying the entrance exam experience.

We started working with David during the pandemic for ‘Lockdown lessons’ and his classes were a real life-saver! He has a wonderful, authoritative yet encouraging way with his students. Amelia looked forward to the sessions, which have had a significant impact on both her attitude and aptitude in Maths. Her confidence has grown, and she now excels at the subject in school. Katy was also a firm favourite with the students - Amelia loved her lessons. She made learning fun, encouraged creativity and learning felt very student-centred. David has been working with my daughter via Zoom for over a year:  We started in lockdown with a daily tutor group and then moved into the Saturday morning exam tutor group.  I have been very impressed by David's unwavering professionalism and reliability: Without fail, David coordinated a daily tutor group for all of lockdown 2021.  The quality of tuition was so good that the English teacher, Katy, ignited a passion for writing in all of the students.  My daughter returned to school with a new-found confidence and self-belief in both Maths and English; she continues to come home excited about what her teacher might say about her writing.  We carried on with David's tutor group for exam preparation and have found his constant support a huge help in navigating the dark arts of secondary school admissions.  I found feedback was delivered in a timely and helpful way throughout the preparatory period.  However most importantly I think my daughter came away with a belief in her own capabilities.  She was successful in achieving the place that she wanted.   I am very grateful to have found DBE.
